Summer Skills

Summer Skills

School's out and training is heating up! Get out of the heat and learn something new with one of our short, skills-focused classes. Class size is limited to 5 students to make sure everyone gets lots of instructor feedback and will include homework to do between sessions. Dogs must not be reactive and must be current on vaccinations to participate. Any additional prerequisites or supplies will be noted in class descriptions.

Don't see a class that fits your dog? We'll be adding more classes as summer continues, so check back soon!

Jumps & Tunnels

Calling All Dogs

Wish your dog would come when you call him- the first time, every time? This is a four week class to build your dog's recall! We'll talk about why dogs don't come when called, practice coming around distractions, and discuss things you can do in your day-to-day life that will keep his skills sharp. We'll also be practicing recalls outside, so you'll need a +15 foot leash (long line) for this class!

Prerequisite: Completion of Basic Manners or instructor approval

"Leave-it"

If your dog needs a little extra help with his "leave it" skills, this is the class for you! Whether he forgets what those words mean or just gets way too excited about food (or toys, or squirrels!), this 3-week class is designed to build your dog's impulse control until he's a leave-it pro!

Cost: $80/3 weeks

Prerequisite: Completion of Basic Manners or instructor approval

Hush Puppies!

If your dog is a demand barker, this is the class for you! Learn why dogs demand bark and play fun games to help prevent barking before your dog wakes up the whole neighborhood!
Note: This class is for dogs who exhibit demand/attention-seeking behaviors. If your dog barks AT things (dogs, people, etc.), this is not the right class for you! If you're not sure why your dog is barking, contact us to determine where you should start.
Cost: $50/2 weeks
Prerequisite: Instructor approval needed

Dog About Town

Ready to test your dog's skills in the real world? This class will focus on real-life applications for the behaviors you learned in Manners class! We'll start off with a quick refresher of the basics and spend the other 3 weeks of class meeting at various dog-friendly locations around the training center.

Cost: $110/4 weeks

Prerequisite: Completion of Advanced Manners or instructor approval

Kennel Up!

Whether you use one in your daily routine or not, crates are going to be a part of your dog's life! Travel, vet stays, grooming, trials... the list of reasons your dog may need to be crated goes on and on. Those events are stressful enough as it is, so it's always worth taking the time to make sure your dog is comfortable and happy in a crate!

Cost: $80/3 weeks

Prerequisite: Completion of Basic Manners or instructor approval
